What is Homeopathy?

What is homeopathy?
Homeopathy is a 200-year-old system of holistic healing which is based on the idea that the body is capable of healing itself, given the proper help. This help comes through the use of remedies, which are manufactured by homeopathic pharmacies according to the HPUS, which was mandated by the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act of 1938.

What is consequential therapy?
Consequential therapy is a systematic approach to healing old mental, emotional and physical traumas using homeopathic remedies. (See the separate brochure on this topic.)

Where do remedies come from?
Homeopathic remedies are derived from the animal, vegetable and mineral kingdoms. They are not herbs, but they may be made from them. Remedies are administered in the smallest dose necessary to effect a healing response.

Are there any side effects?
No side effects have ever occurred nor has any remedy ever been recalled.

Can homeopathy cure chronic complaints such as asthma?
Yes, and it is also very effective in hastening the healing from acute ailments such as colds and flu!

Define 'cure'.
Ending chronic complaints means eliminating the need for drugs in any form, resulting in a healthy body and mind.

Can I get off my chemical medications (allopathic drugs)?
Most of them, yes, but you will need your doctor's assistance with certain ones. HealthWorks does not encourage discontinuing use of any long-term drugs without appropriate medical supervision.

I get conflicting information on how to take remedies.
HealthWorks encourages people to take remedies on an "as needed" basis for acute, self-limiting situations, with general instructions for when to seek additional medical attention. One should not touch the remedies but pour them into the container's lid and then into your mouth. They should be taken on a "clean" tongue---a mouth that has had nothing in it (except water) for at least 5-10 minutes.

How do I store any remedies to keep from antidoting them?
If you keep your homeopathic remedies from light, heat, strong odors and electrical fields your remedies will stay active. This means to avoid storage near TVs, refrigerators, microwave ovens and computers. Tea tree oil, strong mint and camphor are also known antidotes, both to remedies in the bottle and in the body. Don't store your remedies near them or take them orally while under treatment for acute ailments.

I've heard remedies can be antidoted once they are in your body. Is this true?
Certain clients seem to have remedies more easily antidoted than others. In other words, the remedy quits working. Antidoting influences with past clients have included Coke, nail polish, permanents and coffee. People on consequential therapy are not antidoted as easily, but must be careful of taking anything in excess.

Can I keep taking vitamins?
Yes, as long as you are not taking mega-doses of any vitamins. Your practitioner should know everything you are taking, since vitamins and herbs can change your symptom "picture". Other homeopathic remedies, especially combinations, can alter or antidote a treatment process.

I've heard the term ‘healing crisis’.What does this mean?
A healing crisis is the body's response to ingested or injected non-homeopathic substances in an attempt to throw off toxins.

Then what is the 'healing response'?
A healing response is the return, after use of a homeopathic remedy, of old symptoms that need to be acknowledged. This can occur either during constitutional (chronic) or timeline (consequential) therapy.  An example would be an old rash reappearing.

What is an 'aggravation'?
This is the temporary worsening of symptoms already present, often occurring after taking a homeopathic remedy for an acute ailment or a constitutional prescription.

I've heard of miracle overnight cures with homeopathy. Can this happen to me?
Miracles are always possible, but quick healing usually comes to those already in exceptional health. Remember, it took a lifetime to get where you are today, so a few months of treatment are worth the effort to becoming truly healthy.

Why do you use the term 'client' instead of 'patient'?
HealthWorks' goal is to help you learn to heal, not to heal you. This is significant, as it acknowledges the real power to heal belongs to God. Throughout homeopathic treatment, clients are encouraged to make choices, become educated, and to take responsibility for their own health.

Is taking classes important?
Yes! Once you are on the way to real health (a life without drugs and freedom from limitations) you need to know how to continue to care for yourself and your family. Classes in acute self-care are especially recommended as a good way to begin your education. Contact HealthWorks if you are interested in taking a class.
